Create Custom Utilities

Feature Request

Loving some of the utilities so far. There are gaps that this doesn’t cover for me. Community or local custom utilities would be really nice.

Rough idea:

  • Name, icon, trigger phrase

  • Action: shell command, script, or AI prompt

  • Variables like {file} / {files} substituted from the current selection

  • Optional JSON export/import so people can share them

    @simp4_jesus Thank you for this! We’re experimenting with a bunch of stuff at the moment. In addition to this, we’re also thinking of ways to integrate with MCPs as well. We’ll keep you posted on the progress of it. I think we can release “executing shell command / script” with support for variables sooner. Will let you know.

      Hey @simp4_jesus , We added support for Custom Utilities in v0.4.0, which covers a big chunk of what you described.

      What's in there now:

      Name + keyboard shortcut: Each utility gets a name and a custom hotkey

      Preset actions: Built-in templates like Polish Text, Fix Grammar, Make Professional, Summarize, Bullet Points, Email Rewrite

      Custom AI prompt (Pro): Write your own prompt with variable substitution:

      {{selected_text}}: whatever you have highlighted

      {{clipboard}}: clipboard contents
