Delay in transcription start on Windows
The transcription does not start as soon as I press down the shortcut. I typically have to wait a second or two before the pill changes from the 3 dots to waveform (and makes the start noise). In this time, it catches nothing I say. I have this problem for a while now.
It also still has the problem of missing out the last word a lot of the times.
I am currently using the Ink 2 model, but I’ve tried with other models both cloud and local and the issue still persists. I even fully reinstalled the app, but the issue still remains.
Is this expected or a bug?

Hello, I have come back. The issue has pretty much returned. There is like a second or of loading time before the waveform shows up. Honestly quite annoying when you’re locked in with work.
I found a 0.2.8 version build in my downloads folder and the issue isn’t present in that build. You got any clues or any workarounds?
Is this happening to anyone else?
I tried Bluetooth devices as you suggested but this time the issue persists.

Hey @GoatBro , for the input audio device, are you connected via a Bluetooth device?

Hi,
No, I am just using the microphone built into the laptop.
The transcription itself is great for the most part, just the triggering and last word issues.

The app shows the “three dots loading” icon while it’s waiting for the microphone to be activated. It might be a system specific issue, which is causing a delay in activating the microphone. Can you check your Windows system audio input settings to make sure that the microphone is selected. Sometimes, it might set to a virtual audio device.
In the meantime, we’ll look into it and get back to you. If you have any more information to share that will help us do share it with us. Thanks

Ok, I think I have found the issue.
I tried with Bluetooth headphones, and it was instant.
I turned off “Intel Smart sound technology bus” power management settings (in device manager).
Realtek might be also doing some power management thing. So, I also disabled ‘Enable audio enhancement’ in the audio recording settings. A combo of both of these seems to have resolved the issue.
This is working perfectly so far with a few exceptions, but only time will tell, I guess.
Thank you very much for your time.
