Hey @Xavier , we’ve just released v0.2.6 that addresses some of this. We’ve also added an experimental setting called “Enhanced silence detection” you can turn it on, and set it a level that works best for you. Hope this helps!

Hi @Xavier, May I ask which model you are using?

We made a few improvements to our silent detection mechanism earlier. We will work on further improving it. Thanks for the feedback.

@Xavier The earlier fixes we’d added for this was to read the audio data and prevent sending it to Groq / Local model if more than 99% of the audio is silent. But from the video you’d shared I can see that the audio waveform is moving ever so slightly, so it could be because of that. We’re thinking of way to improve silent detection. The problem we’re facing at the moment, while trying to do this is, we still want whispers to be heard. Because if we are in an office environment, it makes sense talk at a low voice. But if the silent detection threshold is too low this can be missed out too. We’re thinking maybe a slider to control the threshold is a good idea. Let us know what you think, if this would be helpful.

Also do let us know if you were in a moderately noisy environment / where others were speaking etc and which headphones you were using. We’ve also noticed that using noise cancelling headphones prevents this issue entirely. We’ll try to reproduce the issue with the specific brand of headphones you’re using as well if we can. Thank you so much!
