What models do you recommend?
What Models do people find are the best for normal dictation and for the AI configuration (must be free)? I think I care a bit more about speed, but I don’t want it to be making a mistake every time I dictate a sentence. Thank you!

Hey @Yonah Bar-Shain, I can suggest Mistral if you want real-time transcription which I think has free API limits. Otherwise, I’d also recommend Deepgram (also support real-time transcription) where you’ll get free $200 credit when you sign up, so I’d recommend that as well.
For AI enhancement, specifically for speed without compromising accuracy, I’d recommend “Gemini Flash 2.5 Lite”, or “Groq Lllama 70b”. There is another model which is much faster “Groq Scout 17b”, but it can at times compromise on accuracy on rare occasions, but I haven’t noticed many issues with it so far (my language is set to English). Hope this helps.

Hi, I am wondering if you have any updated suggestions for this?
I currently use Groq Whisper large V3 turbo as my main one b/c I find it to be pretty accurate, but sometimes it takes an extra few seconds to load (ny suggestions on how to fix that?) But I am still looking for a free real-time transcription model that works as well as my Claude transcription and I just find that the mistral one isn't accurate enough and adds too much punctuation. Thanks!

Groq, on rare occasions like you mentioned, can add an extra few seconds, because of server load on their end. If this is happening very frequently, you can let us know.
The next best option we can recommend is “Deepgram”. Signing up to Deepgram gives you 200$ free credit. And they charge around 0.3-0.4$ per hour. so you should able to operate on Deepgram for a really long time.
Hope this helps!

I couldn’t edit the post, but I would especially love recommendations that have the ability to do live transcription!
