Windows 10 + Intel Core i5 CPU: local whisper-cli crash (ggml-cpu.dll 0xc000001d), need non-AVX2 build

Hi Vowen team,

I found the root cause on my side and need your help with a compatible build.

Environment:

  • Windows 10 (10.0.19045.6456)

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-2400 (4 cores)

  • Vowen: 0.2.8

  • Mic is detected and recording works

Issue:

  • Hotkey recording starts/stops, but transcription fails.

  • Error shown in app:
Transcription failed: Command failed: "...\\whisper-cli.exe" ...

  • Saved recording is created successfully, but local transcription crashes.

What I verified:

  • Microphone is working (Microphone (USB PnP Audio Device)).

  • Vowen actually accesses mic.

  • Crash happens in local Whisper runtime.

Relevant Windows Application log entries:

  • Faulting application: whisper-cli.exe

  • Faulting module: C:\Users\dimabot\AppData\Local\Programs\Vowen\resources\lib\ggml-cpu.dll

  • Exception code: 0xc000001d (illegal instruction)

This strongly suggests the bundled ggml-cpu.dll/whisper-cli.exe requires CPU instructions not supported by my processor.

Request:
Could you provide a legacy/non-AVX2 (or generally older CPU-compatible) build of whisper-cli and ggml-cpu.dll for Vowen on Windows?

Thanks!
